There are many building and interior materials on the market today, and WPC board and PVC board are two of the most common. But what exactly is the difference between them, and which one is right for your project?
WPC (Wood-Plastic Composite) is made from a blend of virgin polymer, wood powder and additives (typically around 70% polymer, 15% wood powder and 15% additives). This gives it the natural look and feel of wood, along with excellent strength, water resistance and durability. WPC is ideal for doors, frames, boards and structural applications where strength matters.PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) board is made purely from polymer and additives, with no wood content. It is lightweight, extremely moisture-resistant and easy to fabricate, making it perfect for interiors, signage, partitions and furniture.Key differences:- WPC has a more natural, wood-like appearance and higher structural strength.
- PVC is lighter and slightly more moisture-resistant, but less rigid.
- Both are 100% waterproof, termite-proof, fire-retardant and virtually maintenance-free.
At Om Industries, we manufacture both WPC and PVC products under our Omprin, Hudiyo and Brolly brands — so you can choose exactly the right material for your needs.
